Saturday, August 25

10:00am - OPENING CEREMONY

10:15am - OMUTIBO - IN SEARCH OF THE LAST LUHYA DRY GUITAR PLAYERS (Spain/Kenya): A road trip into deep Kenya to find, interview and play few tunes with some of the musicians who once were golden stars of the Kenyan scenario and today are peacefully resting in their home villages of Western Kenya.

10:45am - CELLS (Georgia, USA): When a reputable doctor finds himself being held captive by a group of masked intruders, he struggles to understand their motives while being forced to answer why billions of dollars go wasted each year in the name of medical research.

11:00am - MILKSHAKE (South Korea/New York, USA): After their parents died, an adopted teenage boy struggles to live with his adoptive little sister against harsh reality.

11:30am - GUNS AND GUITARS - A MUSICAL TRAVELOGUE (India): Guns and Guitars track the journey of the director Bidyut back to his root - northeast India.  The 8 northeastern states connect with the rest of the country with a mere corridor of 21 km in breath at places, but shares more than 4500 km of international borders with 5 different countries Filmed as a travelogue, this musical quest brings to light the positive influence of music emanating from the youth living in this region, which is crippled by state and non state violence for the last half a century.   The journey finally culminates on the celebratory night of 24th May with Bob Dylan’s birthday concert, organized by the legendary northeastern musician Lou Majaw for the 41st consecutive years, where all the 8 rock bands with whom we interacted earlier participate. With guitar in their hands and songs of life and hope on their lips, these youngsters are truly instrumental in changing the northeastern canvas of despair and anguish into one of hope and peace, much like how Bob Dylan operated in the America of 60s, torn by civil rights movements & Vietnam War.

1:15pm - MUMPSIMUS AND HALCYON DISCORD (United Kingdom): If you are a young person experiencing mental ill health and homelessness, life is far from a walk in the park.This film explores the connections between mental health and homelessness, challenging common misrepresentations in the media. Using the medium of the spoken word, the film questions whether we can ever view issues such as these in an objective way.Rolf, a first-time filmmaker, has experienced mental health issues and homelessness and wants to draw from these and use film to challenge our understanding of both.

1:20pm - BEHIND THE BATHROOM DOOR (Texas, USA): A young woman with a particular ailment locks herself in a public restroom for fear of what's on the other side of the door.

1:30pm - GREEN CARD (Georgia, USA): Newlweds Rocket and Martha just has to pass a simple test to get Rocket's Green Card.

1:40pm - THE MYSTERY OF LE MADELON (Georgia, USA): Three friends are given a school project in which they must film and tell a story using only three words. A strange event occurs and our three friends find themselves in the middle of mystery.

2:00pm - PALE IN THE COLORS (Bangladesh): A short story of a cobbler in the Bengali new year celebration day.

2:10pm - CASUALTIES OF W.A.R. (Georgia, USA): A passionate father goes on a journey to expose the corrupt family law court system in America. This hard hitting documentary investigates why a system meant to protect our children ends up hurting everyone involved.

3:40pm - COWFORYA (Georgia, USA): A parents love knows no boundaries - Connie in survival mode, will go to any length to prevent harm to her 7 year old son as she puts an exit plan into action. With unbearable limits an ultimate sacrifice is made with a catalyst effect.  

4:00pm - PARADISE (California, USA): Two kids survived a plane crash. They were rescued and raised by a savage tribe on a remote island. Now, 15 years later, they escape the island to the civilized world, their imagined paradise, until they realize it isn't.

6:15pm - DARK ROADS 79 (Georgia, USA): A horror thriller set in 1979, about a southern rock band known as Dark Roads, who's time in the spotlight has come to an abrupt end. To find a new sound and regain their fame and fortune, they head to a secluded cabin. until they discover that the front man of the band sold his soul for the fame and fortune and now the time has come to collect!

8:15pm - ACOLA (Brazil): [Acola means "there" in Portugeuse] A boy is punished by being sent to his room.  He uses his imagination to free himself and travel far away - somewhere else - "there".

8:30pm - MENTAL PICTURES (Georgia, USA): Struck with grief, Ben turns to opioids to calm his mind.

8:45pm - THE BOUNTY HUNTER (Georgia, USA): A Civil War veteran earns a living as a bounty hunter, and pursues a fugitive who might be innocent in this Grits Western set in 1870.

9:05pm - LONG CON MOM (Georgia, USA): The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this short about a thief turned mom.

9:35pm - SILENCE (Iran): He has been divorced for two years. Now, four phone calls open a window to the conflict in his life.

12:00pm - NECESSITY HAS NO LAW (Egypt): Your place now in control of your place later?

12:10pm - DIG YOUR GRAVE (Georgia, USA): After stealing from his comrades, Jax flees to a remote saloon.  Of course when there's money to be had, old friends won't let you stay lonely for long.

12:30pm - NO NAME MADDOX (North Carolina, USA): A young priest tries to help a 14-year-old Charles Manson.

1:00pm - BINGE/PURGE (Pennsylvania, USA):  After losing her job, Valerie relapses into bulimia. It takes the new found friendship of an oddball woman named Jacey to help her find the way back to recovery.

1:45pm - WRITER'S BLOCK (Georgia, USA): A group of filmmakers enter a filmmaking competition but everything seems to be going wrong.  Without a clear concept for their film, they're stuck at step one and every minute they waste brings them closer to the deadline.

3:00pm - ENTRE NOUS (Georgia, USA): A man is murdered and the woman who was last seen with him is the prime suspect but an assistant DA and police detective, who also happen to be best friends, don't see eye to eye on the case.

4:45pm - #TAKEMEANYWHERE (USA/Finland): Shia LaBeouf and his friends Rankka and Turner embark on a month-long project to hitchhike the internet, posting their coordinates online each day and waiting for a ride, with their path entirely in the hands of the public.
